Caesars to Debut Vanderpump Hotel, Targeting Small Groups

Skift Take

In a market defined by mega-resorts, Caesars is betting on a boutique property for executive-level meetings.

Caesars Entertainment is converting The Cromwell into the Vanderpump Hotel, a 188-room boutique property set to open in May. The project marks reality TV star and restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump’s first hotel.

The property offers a scaled-down footprint — compared to many of the larger Las Vegas Strip hotels — positioning it for buyouts, executive gatherings, and VIP programs.

The Vanderpump Hotel includes 65,000 square feet of meeting and event space, but its location, across from Caesars Palace, which has 300,000 square feet of meeting space and 3,960 guestrooms, and within walking distance of Caesars Forum, which offers 320,000 square feet of meeting space, allows groups to pair a boutique stay with access to major convention infrastructure.

Smaller Hotel Will Fill a Gap in the Market

Planners say Vanderpump Hotel will fill a gap in the market. Marcy Manley, executive producer at WPI Event Partners, recently brought 4,500 attendees to Caesars Forum for Slate Summit, an annual conference for software company Technolutions.

“It is a city that can accommodate programs of any size. Whether it's for 400 or 4,000. The Vanderpump is a welcome addition and will be a great property for my VIPs,” said Manley.

The property is undergoing a renovation that will introduce a new lounge designed for receptions and private events. In addition, the former Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub is being rebranded as Soleia, a 65,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor venue that will serve as both a pool and dedicated event space.

Chef Giada De Laurentiis’ restaurant Giada, will remain part of the hotel and stay open throughout the renovation. Drai’s After Hours will remain open as well.

While this marks Vanderpump’s first hotel, she already has a growing footprint within Caesars properties, including  Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace, Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas, and the recently opened Pinky’s by Vanderpump at Flamingo Las Vegas.
