Cvent’s latest acquisition focuses on extending event content beyond the live experience through branded videos.
Cvent has acquired Goldcast, a video content platform and webinar platform with extensive AI features. Cvent sees the move as a strong way to expand AI-driven content capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition is Cvent’s second deal this year. It follows its April acquisition of spatial tech company Prismm in April. This followed four acquisitions in 2024, including buying event marketing platform Splash.
Backed by Blackstone since 2023, Cvent is continuing its rapid inorganic growth, looking to be even more of a consolidator, as enterprises seek to simplify fragmented event tech stacks and measure ROI more effectively.
Goldcast fills a gap in Cvent’s offering around creating scalable marketing content captured at live events. One of the platform's core features is the use of AI to automatically generate branded video clips, summaries, and captions from event sessions.
AI Future of Event Marketing
“This acquisition reflects our strong belief in the power of AI‑driven video and the role it will play in the future of event marketing,” said Reggie Aggarwal, CEO and Founder of Cvent. “AI is transforming how content is produced, but it hasn’t changed what audiences value most — authentic moments and experiences.”
Founded in 2020 by Harvard Business School dropouts Palash Soni (CEO), Kishore Kothandaraman (COO), and Aashish Srinivas (CTO), Goldcast raised $10 million in seed funding in February 2022. The funding was led by Unusual Ventures, with participation from HubSpot Ventures and angel investors including Adobe’s Scott Belsky, Microsoft’s Manik Gupta, and Drift’s Elias Torres. A $28 million Series A round led by WestBridge Capital followed in August 2022, bringing total pre-acquisition funding to $40 million.
“Together we’ll put same‑day, on‑brand video in more marketers’ hands so they can publish, personalize, and enable sales faster, and keep winning the mindshare of their audiences,” said Palash Soni, CEO & Co-Founder of Goldcast. “As marketers face a video-first future, we’re building tools that turn every event into a content engine so brands can amplify their reach and personalize at scale.”
In addition to offering clients a simplified tech stack and a powerful video content studio, Cvent highlights the ability to combine its event insights with Goldcast’s video engagement metrics for a clearer view of buyer intent.
“As we integrate the teams and technologies, we’ll explore thoughtful ways to connect engagement insights across event formats, always with the goal of making event programs more effective, scalable, and easier to learn from. In short, this acquisition deepens our ability to deliver on our existing AI vision without changing our core strategy or customer focus,” said McNeel Keenan, vice president of product management, Cvent.
