Universal is opening a fourth theme park, Disney’s Magic Kingdom is expanding, and a new sports and entertainment district is being built in Orlando.

Approximately 32,000 union workers at Walt Disney World will get raises of about $3 an hour by the end of the year and raises of about 37 percent of their current salaries by 2026 under a tentative five-year agreement.

The Service Trades Council Union has rejected Disney’s latest contract offer, saying a $1-an-hour raise is not enough. The historic minimum wage increase at Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, is what unions want as the new standard.
