Everything In One Place
On the surface, Goombal can be described as an aggregator, pulling data in from all aspects of the event lifecycle into one place. It’s also more than that. With the help of powerful analytics and collaboration tools, the event organizer can keep an eye on every aspect of their event, making sure nothing slips. This is done through a combination of pulling in data from multiple sources such as ticketing websites and attendee tracking software and manual input from team members where necessary. This is made easy by the use of templates which can be user-defined or created with the help of Goombal. For example, if you run a regular event, whose setup is almost the same every time, a template could be created so that you don’t have to start from scratch.
Multiple User Support
Full support for multiple users allows any member of an event team to access the information they need to get their job done. This includes personal task lists and access to reporting and analytics relating to their part of the event lifecycle. A combination of strict user management policies and user customization means team members only see what they need to see, keeping their workflow free of clutter.
Upon logging in, the user is presented with a list of all upcoming and current events. At this level, event organizers can see basic details for each event such as budget, location, and start/end dates. Clicking through the list items will bring you to the dashboard for each individual event. Previous events can also be viewed in the event dashboard for post-hoc analysis.

Under the “Program” and “Activities” tabs, users can access the different activities and resources that make up the event. These can include food and beverage, entertainment, setup, sponsors and venue information as well as any other activities or resources the user might add. Details for resources can be entered manually or imported via a familiar spreadsheet-like interface, depending on the resource.
Under “Venues”, the user can click through to any of the spaces made available to the event by the venue. Each of these spaces will have setup and capacity information specific to that space. From here, event planners will be able to access that information as well as capacity and timings for the room. Photos of the venue and its various sub-spaces can also be made available here to help planners decide on the suitability of the space for a specific activity type. Staffing and resources required for that space can also be accessed from here. The various elements that make up an event profile can be added manually, imported by spreadsheets or auto-populated by the template. Where external software has data pertaining to venues, this can also be pulled in via the API of that software where provided.
Within Goombal, event managers can also access accommodation information for attendees of different types. Within the accommodation module, event organizers can also manage hotel room blocks. Accommodation details can be input manually, imported or pulled straight from hotel booking systems via API access where available.
Visual Project Management
The whole layout of Goombal is very visual, making good use of charts and graphs as well as drawing attention to key statistics in user dashboards. Along with dashboard views, Goombal also allows the user to view event resources, tasks, and schedules in traditional Gantt chart format and calendar views familiar to most project managers.
Within the budgets section, event managers can zoom into budgets at any level of the event. Budgets can be viewed at resource or activity level and full breakdowns can be viewed within Goombal or exported as a spreadsheet.
Collaboration with different teams is made easy by Goombal’s collaboration rooms. Each room is an online collaboration space shared between team members associated with a particular task or event resource. Within the rooms, users can post Pinterest-style messages which become the start of a conversation thread. Conversation threads are similar in nature to most online forums. Each room also has a document management system which allows quick access to files attached to comments. To keep teams organized, collaboration rooms feature dedicated task lists.

One of Goombal’s key strengths is its powerful reporting ability. All team members have access to reporting that is specific to their unique role or responsibilities. Thanks to Goombal’s ability to aggregate data across multiple sources, it also has the ability to report on those sources. The user also has the ability to compare data sources at a glance.
