New Site for Booking Team Retreats Launches

  • Skift Take
Team retreat specialist Offsite has launched a curated online marketplace that hopes to be the Airbnb of offsites and team retreats.

A new online marketplace showcases hundreds of team retreat venues. Offsite takes inspiration from Airbnb in the way it looks and feels. Site users are able to search and submit requests for room blocks and meeting spaces. Offsite says users will receive proposals from their chosen venues within 24-48 hours.

The marketplace is a new addition to Offsite’s planning services. Services include travel management, site selection and contracting, agenda building, and activity management. The company launched its services two years ago, working mainly with startups, communities, and venture capital firms.

“Offsites and team retreats are an increasingly crucial part of every company’s strategy around increasing employee engagement, retention, and alignment,” said Jared Kleinert, Offsite’s founder and CEO. “With the launch of our marketplace, we hope to help thousands of companies save time and money while planning higher ROI offsites at inspiring venues around the world, much like we have with our beta users over the past few months.”

In July, Offsite announced a $3 million round of seed funding led by Forum Ventures, Automattic, and Right Side Capital. Investors believe Offsite will become the default one-stop-shop for planning team retreats. One research company considers this to be a $500 billion market.

Offsite partners with several boutique hospitality brands, including The Standard, SLS, and Belmond. It also works with providers Getaway, AutoCamp, and Wander. Offsite vets the properties for quality of meeting space, guest capacity, selection of activities, and overall guest experience.
